Bilbo, Frodo, Gandalf, Thorin, Balin, Dwalin, Bifur, Fili, Kili, Bofur, Oin, Gloin, Bombur, Nori, Dori, Ori, Smaug, Elrond, Gollum......................

All are coming to meet you! So, are you ready???

Ever since I have read JRR Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings, I have changed my address from the earth to the middle-earth. And after watching Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings Trilogy (Official Page), I made Hobbiton my home.

I have climbed the Misty Mountains...... traveled as far as the Lonely Mountain........went through the mines of Moria......lived in the hobbit hole.....wandered in dangerous Fangorn and Mirkwood forests......cherished my moments in Rivendel and Minas Tirith......experienced the uneasiness in the Minas Morgul.

I have fought alongside the men and elves, dwarves and hobbits, ents and eagles..... I fought against the orcs and goblins. I was there when Theoden fell. I celebrated with Pippin when Sauron fell...

Middle-Earth has always been in my heart. And no surprise that I eagerly waited for the hobbit to come to the screen. It was even heartening to see Peter Jackson coming back and taking the reins. The length of movie doesn't matter to me. In fact the longer is even better for me. Because it gives me few more minutes to stay on the middle-earth.

Tolkien has created an altogether different world. The world of good and evil. Countless creatures, races and characters live in it. They have their own characteristics and their own languages.

This is my world. My kindred. My friends. And my foes as well. And I am happy that they will stay with me for next year and half.

Howard Shore's music is a masterpiece once again. It only enhances the effect this movie has on you.

Acting is good and effects are superb. So, no need to write much about it. If you don't know the story or have not seen The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, you may feel that it's too slow for first hour and so. Jackson builds the story in the first half. But it catches the momentum in the latter half. Expect it to get much exciting in next two installments.

I am glad that my friends are back. And I am ready for another adventure. Bring on those orcs and goblins.....

  1. I really enjoyed this movie. It is a bit long though. Lot's of adventure but if you are more of the "humane" type I would not reccomend this movie to you. It is a good movie that lot's of time and effort was put into. This seems like a wonderful connection to The Lord of the Rings books and movies. ✭✭✭✭✭
