Life of Pi: It is not just about entertainment.
But it makes you think..... when you reach home. And makes you think when you wake up in the morning. It stays with you.
It gives you an option to select your story. The animals story you want to be true. The more realistic but brutal story. Or a completely different story.
It makes you think about the life. Last 20 minutes or so add a sudden twist. Is it Pi fighting against the sea or is it Pi fighting against himself in form of Richard Parker?I will try to find an answer for the rest of my life.
About technicalities of the movie..... It is superb. Acting and effects are marvelous. 3D enhances the beauty as well as cruelty of the sea.
Don't expect weapons or characters flying by you. Even James Cameron of Avatar has praised those. Richard Parker, the Bengal Tiger, is perhaps the most important character in the movie.
Seldom do we get to watch such powerful movies. A masterpiece for sure. Now, can't wait to read the novel.
